To get the maximum impact from the process it is necessary to put some structure around our Objectives.  The current Best Practice when it comes to setting targets is to use SMART

SMART stands for:

SPECIFIC – how much and when

MEASURABLE – how we will know when we get there

ATTAINABLE – are they reasonably achievable

RELEVANT – are they important and worth persuing

TRACKABLE – can the progress be tracked over time to the end result

 

 

 

Goals should be regularly reviewed using the Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology of Continual Improvement
